Preholiday Catch Up

ree

It's that time of year again. Time for me to spend time with my family in the beautiful county of Cornwall. I will be staying in Looe, one of my favourite holiday spots. From there I will travel through the country lanes to some of the wonderful places I’ve come to love; Bodmin Moor, Jamaica Inn, Golitha Falls, Healey's Cyder Farm and Polperro to name but a few.

I leave my cats in the safe hands of my oldest son, who will love and feed them, then tell me how laborious it is, knowing that I know how much he actually cares them. A game he plays with me; pretending to be indifferent to their charms.

Before I rush to pack, yes I know I’m cutting it fine, I would like to pop on here a quick update. I’m fortunate enough to have a Social Media Manager, a member of my own family, and they have put this site together, a Facebook page and will manage my posts on FB, TikTok and Instagram. So a big thank you to them.

I’m currently editing my novel, The Raeven and the Prince of Shadows. I’m sure this is going to be… difficult, if not more so than the act of writing the first draft. I plan to change nothing unless the keys of my keyboard decide differently. It will then go to a professional editor. I’m in the process of short listing those who I have already been in contact with; the same with my book cover design (The big reveal is a way off yet).

We’re planning for release of my novel in February/March 2026. I would like to get book two written and ready for publication shortly before this, hence the wait. I don’t want a huge gap between their publications. I know how frustrating it is to wait for book 2 (Callie Hart and Devney Perry, please take note). These plans may change a little and I will keep everyone updated if they do.

As well, I have a few ARC reviews I want to pop on the website today. I was immensely impressed by the writing, content and professionalism of these authors. I support any new author who writes a book but especially those who go down the path of Indie author. Its hard work and I mean, extremely hard work and so the level of the work I have reviewed is inspiring. Let’s hope I can live up to their standards! In the meantime, I will continue to post on Social Media and work towards the publication of my first novel.

Now I must leave you all to rummage around for a suitcase to throw a few clothes in. I will take a few photos and read a few more books. I’m trying to steer clear of working but I doubt I will be successful; my laptop is already sitting on top of my bed, patiently, waiting to be packed away.

So wish me luck and I will be back soon.
